Facility Offerings
Jayhawk Tennis Center has 6 indoor and 6 outdoor hard courts with bench seating in between each court. The building was designed with open court viewing so no matter where you sit, you can watch play without obstruction. The outdoor courts are also lit for evening matches and every court has its own scoreboard.
We operate a 24 hour climate controlled environment to preserve the courts and equipment. The benefit for players and viewers alike is a year round pleasant playing environment.
For the invested player, we offer Playsite Technology. This system records how you move on court so that you can understand opportunities. We also have a ball machine on court 4 with remote switching.
Men and women’s locker rooms are readily accessible to shower, change or freshen up. Onsite bottled water, Gatorade and snacks are available for purchase as well as hats, t shirts, racquets and tennis balls. We also have water fountains, ice machine and a kitchen area. for your convenience.
For the viewer, we offer free Wi-Fi and different kinds of seating to match your needs.
Jayhawk Tennis Center is on the northwest side of Lawrence, KS. Please look for the building that says “Kansas Tennis” (We are not the Sports Pavillon.) The StoneHill Lawrence, Trademark Collection by Wyndham hotel is close by for visiting family, campers or tournament goers.
Driving Directions and Parking Info
The Jayhawk Tennis Center is one of the four Kansas Athletics facilities at Rock Chalk Park in northwest Lawrence, conveniently located near the conjunction of K-10 and I-70. Parking is free and located to the east and north of the main entrance.
FROM I-70:
- Take I-70 to KS-10 exit #197
- After the toll, head south on to KS-10/S Lawrence Trafficway and drive for approximately two miles
- Take the US-40 ramp to Lawrence/Topeka
- Turn left onto US-40 E/W 6th St and drive for approximately 0.5 miles.
- At George Williams Way light, turn left and then left after the hotel.
- Turn right at next intersection. Jayhawk Tennis Center will be our your left. Parking in and around there.
FROM K-10:
- Take K-10 to US-40 ramp to Lawrence/ Topeka
- Turn right onto US-40 E/W 6th St and drive for approximately 0.5 miles
- At George Williams Way light, turn left and then left after the hotel.
- Turn right at next intersection. Jayhawk Tennis Center will be our your left. Parking in and around there.
Accessible Parking and Drop Off Area
Accessible parking is available in the parking lot to the north of Jayhawk Tennis Center and in the main lot across Rock Chalk Lane.
Display your state-issued accessible license plate or hangtag.
Limited mobility and/or wheelchair guests are permitted to be dropped off and picked up by the main entrance should all available accessible parking spots be filled.
