Thiago Barbosa


Thiago Barbosa joins the staff after 7 years as a USPTA teaching professional at Arrowhead Country Club in Glendale, Arizona. Prior to that he was the Head Pro at Winchester Country Club in Winchester, Virginia, as well as the assistant coach for Shenandoah University where he also received his MBA.

Originally from Brazil, he came to the US and played college tennis for Virginia Intermont College (NAIA), where he was ranked #1 in the country in doubles and was named both an All-American and an Academic All-American. After college he has continued to compete, winning 8 National level awards (including 1 Gold Ball), twice named the USTA Phoenix District Adult Player of the Year, and achieving the #1 US ranking in Men’s 35 singles and doubles.
